Initiative Package for Senate President and Secretary

The Faculty Senate Governance Committee proposes that the Provost consider the following incentives package for the Senate President and Secretary. By adopting the proposal, it is understood that the Office of the Provost would provide the resources necessary to fund the package.

1. a $10,000 stipend, payable in salary, overhead, or research account, or any combination thereof;
2. a one-course reduction in teaching per term for each semester in office;

  1. at the completion of the term in office, a one-semester release from
    teaching duties;
    4. a laptop to use while in office;
    5. a university cell-phone account for use while in office.
