Resolution in Memory of Georgia St. Amand

 

Whereas, Georgia St. Amand was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on March 3, 1928 and died in Oxford, Mississippi on August 8, 2006, and

 

Whereas, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Winthrop College in 1948, her Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1949, and

 

Whereas, she joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi in 1959 as an Instructor of Biology, and

 

Whereas, she retired from the University in 1988 as an Assistant Professor emeriti of Biology

 

Resolved, that the faculty of the University of Mississippi at its meeting on 9 May 2008 recognizes that many contributions of Georgia St. Amand to the University, its faculty and students and to the scholarly community at large, and be it further

 

Resolved, that this resolution be entered among the minutes of the faculty and that a copy be forwarded to her family.
